WOW! HOW TIME FLIES!
My last post to SBC was on July 30, 2015.
Yep – we bought the farm and life has tumulted by ever since.
I am now an official, permanent “Southern Belle” and luvin’ every second of it.
The last year and a half have brought sooooooo many changes, new stuff – both good and bad. But I choose to ignore the bad and turn it all into good. Cause that’s what God says He does … All things work together for those who love Him and are called according to HIS purpose.
One of the aspects of a new life I struggle with, right now, is what IS my ‘new purpose’ …. If, indeed, it IS a new one at all.
I’ve asked several of my closest peeps to tell me what my 3 strengths are in their opinions. Surprisingly, they all came back with almost the same answers. So now … how do I put these strengths into action and some way to REALLY help others? (and possibly make some money from them, as well) …
Well, one thing I learned today.
With context in building one’s own business … but in life, in general, methinks, too –
⦁ Determine what separates YOU from everyone else? What is YOUR passion?
⦁ START … simply that. Just START whatever endeavor you have chosen to take on.
⦁ Be CONSISTENT … yep, no wishy-washy “stuff” … BE CONSISTENT … be there. Be YOU!
⦁ Be patient.
And there ya have it. Whether in business or in general life, the main thing is to determine what YOUR own passion is and BE YOU! No one else can be you. Only you can be you. Don’t listen to others nay-say about YOUR passion. It’s YOURS and no one else’s. There are others who may share the same type of passion but you, and only you, have that special niche. As long as your niche does not hurt anyone else then what difference does it make what others think?
There’s another scripture where God says He gives us the desires of our hearts. While many see that as He’ll give us what we want … many forget the other side of that and forget that God PUTS THE DESIRES IN OUR HEARTS first! It’s up to us what we do with them.
Do you have a passion to write stories? Well, then, simply START! (Don’t listen to the joy robbers who say, but you can’t do that! If someone tells you that then you stick our your chest and say … WATCH ME!”) … Do you have a passion to play the piano? Then START. Pick up the phone and find an instructor to teach you or simply sit down at your piano and START … one finger at a time. What about teaching kids? JUST START! There are plenty of volunteer situations out there and kids galore who would LOVE a passionate ‘teacher’ … GO FOR IT!
What’s holding you back?
The next is to BE CONSISTENT … be there. Do it. And keep doing it. Every day. Even if just 15 mins a day. DO IT EVERY DAY. If you’re out in social media trying to make a name for yourself? BE THERE CONSISTENTLY.
And be YOU.
Be PATIENT … Rome wasn’t built in a day, or so they say … be patient. Things may come and try to put a kink in your wheels but that’s OK … Remember – things are JUST the way they’re supposed to be at any given moment … good or bad. BE PATIENT … see it through. Wait and trust and keep the faith.
Remember – ALL things turn work together for those who love God and are called for His purpose.
So be patient through the tough times, but be you and be consistent.
It’s that simple.
(well, sort of! *grin*)
And I have NO IDEA why I’m writing this today, here, now, after 1 ½ years of my own inconsistency. But lesson learned and of course I HAVE to share it with someone!
So, I picked YOU!
Have an excellent day … and I’ll see y’all (hey, I got THAT down pat now! *lol*) soon!
With Love …
