We did it!!! We made it through Dental School! When my husband told me he wanted to make a career switch from Engineering to Dentistry I was an awesome wife and was completely supportive! However, that’s all he gets. Two different degrees. One career switch. The end. Going through dental school was extremely hard, and I would NEVER want to do it again! But we are finished and starting another chapter in our lives, hence the title of my post!
It has always been my dream to restore an old home. So…we bought one. It’s a Craftsman Style Bungalow built in 1926. We originally weren’t looking for an old home. We were looking at normal houses, and we couldn’t find anything that we loved. So we started looking at foreclosures. When we saw this house on line we were very excited. The more pictures we saw the more excited we got. Then we noticed it was under contract…boo. We decided to contact a realtor anyway, just in case. Long story short: the other contract fell through and we got it!!
The first time I set foot in this house I knew I wanted it. It has so much character! We were in love!
Over all the house was in great condition. Honestly, we could have moved in right then (after a GOOD cleaning!). The floors and walls are in excellent shape. Someone had put in new cabinets and counter tops in the kitchen, albeit cheap ones. Windows are original to the house and there are a few that needed fixed but other than that they are good too, that is if you don’t mind them being painted shut. A few of them open but the rest require Hulk like strength to open! The outside needs to be painted. It needs ALOT of yard work!!! It also needed a new front and back porch put on.
I promise to provide lots of details and pics when I share each room as it is finished. Keep in mind it is a long (sometimes boring, frustrating, annoying, hair pulling, back breaking, etc., etc.) process, so have patience and pity on this poor girl.
