School Spirit Bracelet
I’m excited to be part of another month of Blog With Friends. This month I am going to share how to make an easy wrap bracelet that can be done in any colors, with any charms. This is one I made for a friends daughter. Her school colors are blue and white. She wanted dark blue beads and I had some, so………..here we go.
To make this bracelet you will need the following:
I decided to use 7 wraps of the wire for more of a cuff look on this bracelet. You can do as few as 2 or as many as you want~ Carefully cut the wire with your small wire cutters. Remember that it is going to be larger after you get the beads on!
Sorry, really not a good picture to show you what I am doing here………..Let’s just say trying to take a picture with one hand and looping the end with the other, well, I’m not that coordinated. This is where you need the needle nose pliers. Grab the end of the wire and curl it around the end of the pliers. Loop it as tight as you can so you don’t have beads falling off. Not a fun thing to happen if you’re walking through the grocery store ( yes it happened to me)
This is what you want the end to look like after you get it curled. The memory wire is easy to bend with your needle nose pliers and if you don’t get it right the first time, just straighten it out and try again.
Now just start threading your seed beads on the open end and after you have a few, slide them down to the end that you’ve made a loop in. My friend wanted a random look for this one, so I just slid them on as I picked them up. You can add them any way you like so you have a pattern.
As you get close to the end, make sure you leave enough wire to make a loop on the other end. If you’re not sure that you’re looping correctly, there are bead cap ends you can use. Make sure to use a good jewelry making glue ( I use E6000) and let it set for a few hours before you start beading.
You don’t have to add a charm if that’s not what you want. My friend’s daughter is in band, so I added a treble clef and a guitar to the end. Here’s a link to a video to open and close jump rings so you can add the charm(s).
It takes less than hour from start to finish.
