There’s nothing like fall in Alabama. The cooler weather is a welcome break from the heat and humidity of summer. We have highs in the 70’s or low 80’s and lows in the low 60’s or below. The only thing better than fall in Alabama is spring in Alabama.
Since the weather has been so lovely I’ve been enjoying sitting on the patio and soaking up the weather. I sit at the patio table but I really kick back and put my legs on the table. Totally relaxed with something good to drink. Life is grand.
The other day I was sitting outside when two squirrels zipped by, one hot on the tail of the other. Feminine squeaky squirrel voice: “You brazen, bushy tailed hussy! Leave my man alone!” Another feminine squeaky voice: “No! He loves meeeeee!”
I’m kicked back hearing this and thinking that her problem isn’t a brazen bushy tailed hussy. Brazen bushy tailed hussies are a dime a dozen. Her problem is her man. He said yes when he should have said no.
Ok. I know what you’re thinking. I get it. It could have been a lovers quarrel. Feminine squeaky voice: “If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a thousand times PUT THE SEAT DOWN!” Masculine but still sqeaky voice: “I did! I swear! A ghost did it!”
I just went from standing on the edge of crazy to diving in head first but since none of us speak squirrel they could have been arguing about the toilet seat or a cheating man. Who knows?
Before we bought this house and moved here we lived with Sonshine and his wife for six months. Sonshine had what I think is one of the best inventions ever. A self lowering toilet seat. I’d never heard of them before.
Six months of living with a self lowering toilet seat undid years and years of my husband knowing to lower the seat. Every time I throw a fit over the seat being up he claims a ghost did it. I don’t know about you but if I have a ghost capable of raising a toilet seat I have a long list of constructive things a ghost could do instead.
I think every woman that lives with a man or is marrying one should have self lowering toilet seats. It should be a requirement. I know some men lower them but for the rest of us they’d prevent so many arguments. You chew your husband out for not putting the seat down, he goes to work mad and chews out someone who goes home in a bad mood… You can see the trickle down effect. While self lowering toilet seats won’t solve all the problems in the world, it would make the world a little better place to be and isn’t that what we all want?
