As Sarah sat in front of the fire in her PJ‘s, sipping her hot chocolate, she was finally able to relax for a bit. The last 2 months have been rough, she thought. Between what was going on with Mama and Hubs she needed a break. Perhaps a week on the beach with no phone, no one getting sick, needing this or that would recharge her. Then again maybe a week wasn’t long enough. Should she ask for a month? Who would take care of Mama and Hubs if she took a few days for herself?
Such a magical time of year and she loved the traditions, though she had to admit there was one new tradition that just plain creeped her out. The whole Elf on the Shelf thing was just weird. Who thought it was ok to have an elf watching everything the kids did? And he was such a stinker. Always getting into things and making huge messes. Who has the time or energy to clean up after the guy? He could just appear anywhere; the kitchen, the dining room, even the bathroom……EWWWWW
BUT and it was a big one, the kids loved it. Every night when she put them to bed they would talk about what he had been up too all day. Where would they find him in the morning? Were they being good enough for him to give a good report to Santa or would it be bad? How did he talk to Santa? Did he have a secret phone he called in on?
As she dozed off, her phone rang. Mama~ this late at night it couldn’t be good.
Today’s post is a writing challenge. This is how it works: participating bloggers picked 4 – 6 words or short phrases for someone else to craft into a post. All words must be used at least once and all the posts will be unique as each writer has received their own set of words. That’s the challenge, here’s a fun twist; no one who’s participating knows who got their words and in what direction the writer will take them. Until now.
Grab a cup, follow the links below and see what everyone is writing about this month~
